Troubleshooting
The things that most often look like bugs.
A rule ran but suggested nothing
- Nothing matched the rule's products, tags, vendors or types.
- Every candidate was held back by a limit, most often the lowest margin, or new stock that is too recent to mark down.
- Products have no cost per item, so a margin limit or the target margin preset had nothing to work from. Check Products, Show, “No cost per item recorded”.
- Your sales figures are more than 3 days old, or haven't arrived yet after install. Sales rules say so and wait for the next nightly run.
- The products are in a scheduled sale that changes prices.
- The products are already at the price the rule would set.
An automatic rule didn't change anything
Automatic rules apply their changes during the nightly run, so a rule switched to automatic today first acts tonight. If it still does nothing, check that automatic price changes are on in Settings, that your plan is Growth or above, and that you aren't over your plan's price limit. The rule list shows a rule as on hold when one of these is in the way.
A suggestion wasn't applied
Its product's price changed after the suggestion was made, the product is in a scheduled sale, or the EU price rules held it. The message after Apply says which. Run the rule again for a fresh suggestion.
A sale didn't start
A sale that changes prices can't start while automatic price changes are off in Settings, and it waits if it clashes with another discount on the same products. The reason is on the sale's card, and the app keeps trying until the sale's end time.
There's no margin on a product
No cost per item is recorded on that variant in Shopify, and the app won't estimate one. Add the cost in Shopify and sync your products again.
The storefront block shows nothing
- The product isn't discounted. The block only appears on reductions.
- You are viewing the store in a converted currency. The line only shows in your store's currency for now.
- The product was already on sale when you installed the app.
- The block isn't on your live theme. The EU price rules screen tells you, and links to the theme editor.
- The EU price rules are switched off. Check the switch on the home screen.
A price changed and the app didn't react
Shopify tells the app about price changes, normally within seconds. If something looks out of date, syncing your products again brings everything in line with Shopify.
An undo was refused
This only happens with the EU price rules on. Putting an old price back is itself a price change, so it is checked again, and your prices have moved on since. Occasionally a price that was fine last month no longer adds up against the last 30 days. The message tells you which products and why.
