Your first bulk price change

From install to your first batch of prices updated.

  1. 1
    Sync, and let it finish

Home, then Sync products. On a catalog of a few thousand variants this takes a couple of minutes. The home screen shows the date of the last sync once it is done.

  2. 2
Pick a preset that works on day one

Rules that work from sales (Discount slow movers, Raise prices on fast movers, Clear overstock) wait for your sales figures, which come in with the first nightly run. On install day, start with Hold a target margin or Mark down aged stock. Open Pricing rules, choose the preset under Add a rule, and the editor opens filled in.

  3. 3
Check the numbers and create it

Read through what the rule does, which products it covers and its limits, and change anything that doesn't match how you price. Leave it on Suggest changes for me to review, then press Create rule.

  4. 4
    Run it

Press Run now on the rule. It works through your catalog and lists what it would change on the Suggestions screen. Nothing is applied.

  5. 5
    Read a few rows properly

Each row shows the current price, the suggested price, margin before and after, units sold over 14, 30 and 60 days, stock on hand, and a sentence explaining why. If the reasoning doesn't match how you price, change the rule rather than the suggestion.

  6. 6
    Select and apply

Tick individual rows, or use Select this page. Type over any suggested price first to use your own. Then press Apply. The number on the button is how many prices will change.

  7. 7
Check the result, and undo if you need to

History lists the batch you just applied. Open it to see every price in it, and press Undo these prices to put the whole batch back.

Start small
If a whole catalog feels like a lot for a first go, pick a few products or fill in one vendor in the rule's Which products section. The reasoning is easier to check on twenty products than on two thousand.
