Get started

Installation

Install the app and get your catalog in.

  1. 1
Install from the Shopify App Store

Search for TB Dynamic Pricing and click Install. Shopify asks you to approve the permissions listed below. None of them reach customer names, emails or addresses.

  2. 2
    Start your trial

Pick a plan. Every plan has a 14-day free trial and is billed through Shopify, so you can cancel from your Shopify admin at any time.

  3. 3
    Confirm your contact email

The first step on the home screen asks where the app should send its emails. You can change it later in Settings.

  4. 4
    Sync your products

Press Sync products on the home screen. This reads every product and variant, the cost per item recorded in Shopify, and current stock. Large catalogs sync in the background, so you can leave the page. Units sold arrive with the first nightly run.

  5. 5
    Add your first rule

On Pricing rules, pick a preset under Add a rule. Choose one that matches something you already do by hand, check its numbers, and save it.

Record your cost per item

Margin is worked out from the cost per item on each variant in Shopify. Where no cost is recorded, the app says so and doesn't guess. A rule with a lowest margin set won't mark those products down, though it can still raise their price.

To find the products missing a cost, open Products and set the Show filter to “No cost per item recorded”. On Growth and above, the Analytics screen counts them too.

About the permissions

  • Products: read your catalog, write the prices you approve, and add or remove tags while a sale runs if you ask for that.
  • Inventory: stock levels and cost per item, which margin and overstock rules need.
  • Orders: units sold per product over the last 60 days. The app counts what sold and never reads who bought it.
  • Discounts: for sales that take the discount off at checkout, and for blocking discount codes on sale items.
  • Themes: to check whether the price history block and the app embed are on your live theme, if you use the EU price rules.
  • Markets and locales: so the 30-day price shows only where it is correct, in the language the shopper is reading.
  • Product listings: lets your storefront fetch the 30-day price for product cards and the cart.
No customer data
The app never requests customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses or browsing identity. Everything it reads is about your products.
