Pricing rules

The presets

Five starting points, each with limits already set.

Every preset is a normal rule with its numbers filled in. Change anything you like in the editor before you create it, or later.

Discount slow movers

Marks down anything selling 3 or fewer in 30 days by 10%. Keeps a 25% margin, moves a price by 20% at most, leaves stock newer than 30 days alone, and skips products tagged no-discount.

Raise prices on fast movers

Marks up anything selling 20 or more in 30 days by 5%, with a 10% biggest change. Skips products tagged no-increase.

Hold a target margin

Works back from your cost per item to keep products at a 50% margin, moving a price by 25% at most. Only looks at products with a cost entered and skips those tagged no-repricing. Useful after a supplier changes their prices.

Mark down aged stock

10% off after 90 days in stock, 25% after 180 and 40% after 365. Keeps a 10% margin and skips products tagged no-discount.

Clear overstock

20% off products with at least 10 in stock that would take more than 60 days to sell at the current rate. Keeps a 15% margin, moves a price by 30% at most, and skips products tagged no-discount.

Every preset rounds to a price ending in .99. Each one that marks down also leaves stock newer than 30 days alone.

Pick the one you already do by hand
The preset that works best is usually the one describing something you already do every few weeks. Start there, and you'll be able to tell straight away whether the suggestions are right.
