URL structure changes
WooCommerce can use product, shop, category, and custom permalink bases. Shopify has fixed paths such as /products and /collections, so the redirect map needs to be planned before launch.
WooCommerce to Shopify Migration
A WooCommerce migration is not just a product import. It is URL mapping, data cleanup, plugin replacement, storefront rebuild, tracking validation, and a launch plan that protects the revenue already coming through organic search.
WooCommerce can use product, shop, category, and custom permalink bases. Shopify has fixed paths such as /products and /collections, so the redirect map needs to be planned before launch.
Variants, attributes, weights, custom fields, plugin data, and media need review instead of a blind CSV import.
The damage usually happens through unmapped URLs, redirect chains, missing collection equivalents, changed metadata, or a launch without crawl validation.
Subscriptions, wholesale pricing, bundles, reviews, search, forms, and tax logic need Shopify-native equivalents or scoped custom work.
The platform reality
WooCommerce runs on WordPress permalink rules. Products can live under /product/, /shop/, shop-plus-category paths, or custom bases. Product categories, tags, attributes, pages, and posts can all have their own URL patterns.
Shopify is cleaner operationally, but more opinionated: products and collections sit under fixed platform paths. That is fine when the migration is planned. It is painful when old WooCommerce URLs are discovered after launch through 404 reports and Search Console alerts.
Our job is to make the platform change feel boring: old URLs land on the right new Shopify pages, important content keeps its context, and the launch is validated before paid traffic and organic search expose mistakes.
Included
Not a blind import
Shopify’s own migration flow covers products, CSV imports, Store Migration, and third-party migration apps. Those are useful paths, but they do not decide your SEO architecture, app replacements, collection model, design system, analytics, or launch risk.
We inspect what actually matters before we quote the final scope: product count, historical orders, customer records, subscriptions, custom fields, plugin stack, URL volume, top landing pages, and the parts of WooCommerce your team relies on every day.
We crawl the current WooCommerce store, inspect permalink patterns, review products and plugin dependencies, and identify the pages that cannot be casually redirected.
We build the Shopify structure, decide what becomes a product, collection, page, blog post, app, metafield, or custom section, and prepare the redirect map.
We set up Shopify, migrate the approved data, rebuild the storefront experience, wire key apps and integrations, then QA the buying path.
We cut over with redirects, sitemap checks, analytics validation, and a focused post-launch review so broken paths are found quickly.
Start with the current store
Send the WooCommerce URL and a rough sense of the catalog. If Shopify is the right move, we’ll scope the migration. If it is not, we’ll say that too.
